The Night & Venue
The Carleton is a multi-purpose venue based on Morecambe's promenade. Every week in Lancaster University's term time we hold a student night. It is very straight forward...you come...you have fun...you go!
We have a capacity of over 1000 people, a number of bars for your pleasure, a very strange collection of DJs for your entertainment. Hey we even have a toilet or two! Drinks are cheap, the music is great and the lights are bright! No need to worry about money as we also provide a cashback facility.
Getting In
All you need to come to The Carleton is yourself, ideally dressed, however sometimes we have been known to let some people in randomly dressed!
To guarantee entry you can buy a ticket from the LUSU shop. This ticket will guarantee you a place on our buses (see below), it will also guarantee you entry. These tickets go fast so get there first thing Monday morning.
Make sure you bring your NUS or library card. We need to know you are a student or you are coming down with students. Speak to us first if you want to bring friends.
Fancy dress is optional but we like to think it is required. Come and try our legendary stiff-un cocktail! Get your photo taken and remeber the night before when you are feeling it the day after.
Getting There
We take the safety and welfare of all our patrons seriously and therefore we will guarantee a bus service for each and everyone of you. All you have to do is get the ticket and get on the bus. Buses run from the University outside Pendle Bar ( while the underpass is out of action) , south campus from 9.15pm to 11pm and from the back of Dalton Rooms ( where you can also get your tickets ) from 9.15pm to 11.15pm to The Carleton. They leave from 12.45am to the early hours back to town and the University.
You are also more than welcome to get down here in your own way but remember a ticket will guarantee you entry. Let's not queue outside for ages, it can get a little windy!
Not a Student?
We're not going to be nasty, we love you all.
If you have friends who are non-students you can still bring them along. All you need to make sure you do is buy them a bus ticket first. When you come to The Carleton they must enter with you.
